Profit-driven-design creates products whose sole purpose is to generate benefits for the owners of a production machine; in this case the object substitutes a simple gesture, to open a bottle, with a powered by a battery push of a button.

I can envision some scenarios where this substitution is right, people with hand motor problems for example. But it's obvious to me that is better to redesign the cap of the bottle than to create a completely new production machine that extracts natural and human resources to create a completely new piece of plastic shit polluting the oceans.

Let's be honest, there is no design solution to laziness.
